Be With Yourself - The Unplugged Version
A Relatively Silent Retreat with Nicky Kassapian
13th – 19th November 2025 (6 nights)
Reset your body, mind and spirit through silent meditation & mindfulness, dyads and movement.
This is an immersion retreat for the adventurous. It is largely conducted through simple classical Buddhist silent meditation practices; allowing a greater sense of aware presence to arise through, mindful sitting and walking, combined with a daily inner contemplation and an empathic listening practice each evening.
This allows you to become more familiar with yourself. There is space to observe yourself, watching what you are thinking and saying. Simply being with yourself, is to start knowing yourself better. From there everything begins to transform.
Disconnect to Reconnect
This is where you step away from the external world and literally unplug from the projections of who and what you think you are. Disconnecting from the roles you play, and the things that appear to run your life.
This retreat is also for the courageous, as it takes courage to sit with yourself in contemplative silence and unplug from all your personal and professional roles, your responsibilities, your gadgets and the identity you have been projecting onto yourself and out into the world.
If you’re longing to begin to reconnect to yourself then this retreat is for you. For those who want to develop techniques for being with yourself more mindfully each day, so that you can operate with greater efficacy in your world, you will be returning to the world with easy to use daily practices.
In brief it is for people who want to develop a daily practice
- Press pause and stop being directed by external distractions – So you can become more aware of what you have been being and doing, and let go of that which is impeding you from being and doing, who and what you would prefer.
- Connect with themselves more fully, in the here and now, in nature – So you can feel something real, remembering how your own heart beats and experience your breath leaving and entering the body.
- Listen to the resounding sounds of silence – So you can develop a daily practice of meditation, mindfulness & grounding, using techniques to become more comfortable and better at being with the unplugged version of yourself, in the stillness of the moment.
- Drop out of the head and fall into the heart – So you can start aligning with your inner knowing and bigger dreams, creating the space to bring them in.

*Shamatha is often referred to as calm abiding and the development of ease. This is generated through the practice of allowing the mind to focus naturally on its object, whereby the mind starts to relax and there are more frequent moments of stability.
*Vipsahyana is often referred to as insight meditation. Once we have a steady mind and a sense of relaxation, and the ability to focus then we’re available for insight meditation.
Therefore, developing Shamatha is typically how we begin to practice.
